My M1 evaluation My first time watch a doctor give a pelvic exam. We had a patient who started the pill, but was expierencing complications. So I took all her vitals and helped prep her for the doctor. As a reward the doctor showed me what a pelvic exam consists of. She showed my tools like the speculum. I was very nervous because I felt awkward. However, it was a good expierence to learn off of. For my evaluation I was surprised on what I was marked down on. Actually, some things I believe should be switched. For example, I believe I am more dependable than anything. I need to improve on my initiative because I often wait for instructions to start my task. Also, I think I need to inprove my quality of work because I would like it to be in the excellent category. I did well on my professionalism which makes me extremely psyched. I try very hard to stay professional no matter the situation.

Coming in with a crash start is week seven. Week seven consisted of multiple things including being flexible. This week I jumped around from one medical assistant to another because they were short staffed. One unique thing I did was check the recall list against our stock. Me and the MA in charge of stock went around looking at the lot numbers on the syringes'. Luckily none of the products in our stock were on the list. So after that we did some charting and I learned about blood pressure machine fluctuations. My experience would not be the same without the medical assistants. Each of them unique in their own way provide me with different tools to help me learn. Whether it is by telling me to stop saying " I know" or by giving me a you tube video to watch to help me improve on a skill. However, It goes beyond the simple things they do individually. As a whole they show me how to function as a team and as a family. Through out my time at Beaumont family medical center I have watched and learned some really exciting things. So I need to thank them for giving me the opportunity to watch them and grow into a better medical professional.
Week six was filled with hreat expierences. Like watching a doctor preform a procedure on a man's head. He came in with a cyst like structure. The structure was as big as a golf ball. So they doctor needed to surgically remove it and stitch his head. Since the head bleeds a lot that effected the ampunt of medication we were able to administer. My biggest flaw is being insecure. I try really hard to overcome this, but it gives me social aneixty. I think most teenagers face Week five was one for the books.. It was an emotional and very impacting week on me. Formerly, me and another student I shadow with got to give a pregnancy test to a woman and deliver good news. They were expecting a baby! Well, it is now two weeks later and patient doe and her child arrived with complications. We worried about the health of the fetus so me and medical assistant questioned and prepped her for the doctor. Patient doe had what seemed to be a chemical pregnancy. It is when a baby develops, but fails to continue to grow. So the only solution is to remove it which is done in a procedure. It was very emotional for the patient so without showing our emotions we tried to comfort her as best as we could. After leaving the room me and the medical assistant felt depressed knowing what was likely to happen. I am not sure what exactly happened to patient doe or her future child, but I can say I did pray for her. One thing you probably did not know about me is I have a foster brother. When I was about six years old I got blessed with a little brother. His name is Joshua David Schriebman, He is one year younger than me. Let's just say he is a blessing but at times a curse. As a big sister I am often bombarded with responsibility. I try to make sure I am a good influence on Josh. Even when he steals with socks and other belongings I still love him. He will forever be a part of my family. Above is a picture taken with me, him, and our mom. Ps. he has red hair so we call him matchstick.
